DISCUSSION #3: Biopsychology – Fight, Flight or Freeze Response
This is a peer discussion so ensure the two pages includes responding to the two posts at the end
Instructions:
1. Watch the 4 minute video (Links to an external site.): “Fight, Flight or Freeze Response.”
You can also view the supplemental lecture on How Trauma Affects Learning (Links to an external site.) for a deeper understanding of the nervous system response (including the “fawn” response and getting back into nervous system regulation). This is also covered in the textbook and lecture.
2. Share an example of a situation when you experienced the fight, flight and the freeze response. If you are not comfortable sharing your experiences and know of someone else’s experience, you may share those. You should have one example for each. If you prefer privacy, submit your original post to me via email. Your post should be in the text of the email (no attachments). View the required format below.
3. Now that you have an understanding of these physiological responses from the video, textbook and lecture, include what physiological responses you clearly felt and/or believe were occurring for each of your examples. You can check the textbook or lecture for specific physiological responses for fight or flight. Text: https://openstax.org/details/books/psychology-2e
